In the Eye of a Cat


his lesson was written by Jille in the Dutch version from PSP XIII
on April 25th 2011.

Preparation
Install filters
Extract selections into your map Selections
Open PSP
Open the tubes in the program and minimize
Imported!
Open the masks in your program and leave them (minimized is OK) on your workplace !!!

Foreground color #f7f5ce and background color #69493d
Material Foreground - prepare a foreground - background gradient with these settings


The lesson

  1. File - New - New Image - click in the box (right mouse button) and select the gradient
  2. Layers - Duplicate
  3. Layers - New mask layer - From image and choose sg_daisies

    (you see nothing, but that's OK)
  4. Layers - Merge - Merge group
  5. Effects - Edge effects - Enhance
    ----
  6. Layers - New Raster layer
  7. Flood fill tool - fill with de dark Background color
  8. Layers - New mask layer - From image and choose mask 123(1)

  9. Layers - Merge - Merge group
  10. Effects - Edge effects - Enhance
  11. Image - Mirror

  12. Selections - Load /save selection- load selection from disk and choose eye_cat1

  17. Layer palette - Promote selection layer

  20. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow (Background color)

  21. Material Foreground - Change the gradient as follows

  23. Selections - Load /save selection- load selection from disk and choose eye_cat2
  24. Flood fill tool - Fill selection with the gradient
  25. Selections - Deselect all
  26. Layers - Duplicate
  27. Image: Rotate left
  28. Effects - Distortion Effects - Wind - from the left
  29. Layer palette - Arrange - Move down
  30. Layer palette - Make top layer active again
  31. Image - Rotate right
  32. Layers - Merge - Merge down
  33. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow - same settings
